Palessa (A name originated from the root raki kiñtwodojuroñ words /pa’le/ [middle] and /tsa’/ [land]) is an archipelago composed of three main land masses;
Those are called the /goŋ’-gokʰuro’da/ (great-islands) and each is named, from east to west to south, /gokʰu’ro-ma’xa/ (Mother Island), /gokʰu’ro-ba’wa/ (Father Island) and /gokʰu’ro-daj’/ (Child Island); They are more popularly referred to as /kʰuma'xa/, /kʰuba'wa/ and /kʰudaj’/. The main land masses are surrounded by about 100 smaller islands. They are cut by 5 main rivers, named: /goseŋ’lu-todoj’-gaŋ’gwa/ (The Big River flowing from the Sky), /goŋ’-goseŋ’lu-bawa’/ (The Great Father River), /goseŋ’lu-pa’le/ (The Big Central River), /goseŋ’lu-ba’wa-kʰo’saw/ (The Big River Father to the Swamp).
